Cariboo to

KVR and
Fraser Valley

click for full size photo In June of 2002, two of us started off on a bike trip in BC. Our route took us up Vancouver Island to Port Hardy, by ferry to Bella Coola, over the Heckman pass to Williams Lake, through the Cariboo and on into Revelstoke. Here we were joined by a friend for the remainder of the trip: Revelstoke to Creston through the West Kootenays, onto the Trans Canada Trail (the Kettle Valley Railway) from Castlegar to Hope, and through the lower Fraser Valley back to Victoria. It was an excellent trip – full of good weather, fantastic scenery, great campsites, interesting wildlife and diverse terrain. Certainly a trip to remember.

This web site gives an overview of the trip (distances, costs, packing lists), trip details including a daily ride breakdown with overview maps and pictures, a picture gallery, and a quick guide to some of the resources we used for the trip. I hope you enjoy the web site and, hopefully, find it useful in planning a bike trip of your own in the area – BC really is a great place to spin your wheels!
