Welcome! I'm a PhD Candidate at the University of Victoria, researching databases under the co-supervision of Dr. Alex Thomo, Dr. Venkatesh Srinivasan, and Dr. Sue Whitesides. Together, we've published eight papers in the past couple years.
My research interests are more thoroughly described here, but I primarily investigate top-k-related problems by applying techniques from Computational Geometry. I'm in the late stages of preparing my dissertation on top-k depth contours, a novel representation of a numeric dataset that leads to efficiently indexing and processing queries. Also, I'm in the early stages of searching for a research-focused post-doctoral opportunity to begin in the Summer or Autumn of 2013 and welcome any communication in that regard.
Outside of my research, I'm a nationally ranked distance runner and a contract database developer.
